The Bulldogs golf team picked up a nice team win Monday evening against Oscar Smith High School.

The King’s Fork High School golf team shot a team score of 196 as the Tigers did not qualify with a score. Rebecca Hutchings was the medalist for King’s Fork.

With the win over Oscar Smith, the Bulldogs have a familiar opponent coming up Thursday. They face Nansemond River High School, and the Bulldogs want to make sure they can secure the city championship this season. With a few weeks into the season, King’s Fork feels good about where they are.

“We want to get ourselves better prepared for Nansemond River,” Coach Robert Casteen said. “We have had some high and low points so far this season. We have Nansemond River and Lakeland coming up, and it’ll be good to have some rival competition there.”

Casteen feels like Thursday will be competitive, and the Bulldogs hope to be able to sweep their cross-town rivals this season.

King’s Fork and Nansemond River will play at the Nansemond River Golf Course beginning at noon Thursday.
