A pass deflection by Cole Christiansen late in the game helped Army to a win last Saturday.
Army at West Point is 2-1 to start the season. Their most recent win came against University of Hawaii in a 28-21 victory, where the former Nansemond-Suffolk Academy standout was able to make the game-winning play.
Army had a 28-21 lead late in the fourth with Hawaii driving the ball down the field. With a minute left on the clock and fourth down for a Hawaii they fired a pass into the endzone. Christiansen stepped up and batted the pass down, forcing a turnover on downs for Hawaii and sealing the win for Army.
So far through three games, the Suffolk native has 11 tackles with one tackle for loss. Earlier this year, Christiansen was named one of the captains on the team, which made him the fifth junior in program history to achieve that.
