Tickets are still available for all-you-can-eat shrimp at the Suffolk Ruritan Club Shrimp Feast Scholarship Fundraiser on Thursday as part of the festivities at Suffolk’s Peanut Fest.
The feast will be from 3 to 7 p.m. in the main stage area of the festival grounds at the Suffolk Executive Airport, 1410 Airport Road. Enjoy all-you-can-eat shrimp, barbecue and cole slaw to go with alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, with live entertainment provided by Gator Head Band.
All of the proceeds go towards the club’s programs that help those in need throughout Suffolk, amounting to about $50,000 annually, according event chairman Jimmy Franks.
“It’s good entertainment, good food and you know where the money’s going,” Franks said. “That’s a good thing.”
Tickets are $35 per person and are limited to 2,500 in total. These can only be purchased in advance — no tickets will be sold at the gate — and only cash and checks will be accepted.
Tickets can be purchased at Bennett’s Creek Pharmacy, Virginia Commonwealth Bank, Line-X of Suffolk, Cross Realty, BB&T Bank on Route 58, Roy’s and Ricky’s Catering, Mike Duman Auto Sales, Dr. Robertson’s Eye Care, Grafik Trenz in Smithfield, Suffolk Quality Cleaners Inc., Xenith Cart, Major Signs, Aamco Transmissions, Carts Unlimited and the Suffolk Visitor Center.
