Ginnie Dawn Richardson, passed away on Oct. 1, 2018. Born in England, she was the daughter of the late John and Lucy Salter. She was a loving and devoted wife to Bob and was fiercely loyal to all she loved and was always kind and giving. She is predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Diana and Tom Newton.
Ginnie was a member of Suffolk Christian Church. She formerly taught the Beginners Sunday School Class and directed the Children’s Choir. She also enjoyed singing in the church’s choir.
She worked for Dillard’s, where she received the Pacesetter Award for having the leading sales with Estee Lauder. In December 1996, she became a proud U.S. citizen.
Besides her husband, Bob, Ginnie is survived by her stepchildren, Bobby Richardson (Karen), Martin Richardson, Audrey Page Bosselman (David); grandchildren, Ryan Richardson (Gabby), Abby Mowry (Eric), Megan Meyers (Cole), Brian Bosselman, Hunter Bosselman (Alex); great-grandson, Jack Mowry, of whom she was so proud; brother, John Salter (Caroline), of Whitney, England; and niece, Alesia Cerza (Richard), of Chesapeake.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2018, in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, by the Rev. Michael D Halley. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018. Memorial donations may be made to Suffolk Christian Church, 216 N. Main St., Suffolk, VA 23434.
