The Nansemond River High School field hockey team got a 2-1 win over Tabb High School Thursday evening.

After battling it out with rival Lakeland High School on Wednesday, the Lady Warriors hosted Tabb High School Thursday evening. In yet another hard-fought game, the Lady Warriors got a 2-1 win over Tabb giving them a 2-0 week.

“It was an excellent win after a tough game against Lakeland,” Coach Allison Dize said. “The girls were dialed in. They put the Lakeland game behind them, and we were able to finish the week 2-0.”

Halle Fago and Lauren Ratkovich were both able to get on the board for Nansemond River. Katie Chafian had an assist. Dize felt good about the team’s effort in both games and believes the team is peaking at the right time.

“Those type of wins help build confidence as we get towards the latter part of our schedule,” Dize said.

Nansemond River will now face rival King’s Fork High School at home at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday.
