Betty Rawls Unwin, 80, widow of David Lane Unwin, of Summerville, S.C., passed away on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, 2018 at St. Paul’s Summerville. Entombment will follow at Summerville Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Parks Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fisher House, www.fisherhouse.org.
Betty was born July 18, 1938, in Suffolk, a daughter of Emmit Lafayette Rawls and Edith Freeman Daughtrey Rawls. She was a former teacher, past board member of Faith Sellers Senior Center, and an active member of National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association.
Survivors include her two sons, Andrew D. Unwin (Lisa), of Colorado Springs, Colo., Donald W. Unwin (Kathleen), of Webster Groves, Mo.; one brother, Emmit Rawls (Betty), of Rockford, Tenn.; two sisters, Edith Smith (Bill), of Virginia Beach, and Susan Jones (Vaughan), of Montpelier; and seven grandchildren. Betty was predeceased by her husband, David L. Unwin, and her parents, Emmit and Edith Rawls.
