The report of a shooting came in at 8:52 p.m. in the 200 block of North Fourth Street, according to a city spokesman. Police located a victim suffering a gunshot wound to the leg that was not believed to be life-threatening.
Officers observed a vehicle recklessly leaving the scene and pursued it up Nansemond Parkway, where the vehicle crashed just on the other side of the Chesapeake city line.
