Police seek suspect in Sunday homicide

Suffolk Police are seeking a suspect in a homicide that happened Sunday afternoon.

The homicide was reported at 2:34 p.m. Sunday in the 1000 block of Nansemond Parkway, according to a city press release. Police have identified the victim as 30-year-old Corey Lovell Baker, of Suffolk. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police have identified a suspect as Tavarus A. Gray Jr., 21, also of Suffolk. Warrants have been issued for Gray for second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Gray reportedly fled the scene in a white panel van.

The incident is still under investigation, and no additional details are available.
