Do you know your true purpose in life?

This is a question that comes to us in different seasons in our lives. Most all of us want to know our purpose for existing in life. What is it that God has for me to do, or why am I here?

I know that I’ve looked at my life and have said, “What am I really supposed to be doing in life?” I know I pastor a church, but what else? Is there a deeper meaning for me existing where I am?

In the book of Exodus, Moses meets God on the back side of Mt. Horeb, and Moses sees a bush constantly burning. God speaks to him out of the burning bush to give him his purpose. Moses found his purpose in an unexpected place.

When you find and know your purpose:

  • There will be a responsibility
  • There will be God’s unusual presence
  • There will be humbling peace

When you know that God has placed you on the earth for a reason, that should humble you and give you a confidence and a peace that He who has control over everything has called you to be used by Him. Know that there’s nobody greater who has charged you in such a time as this than your Heavenly Father.

Continue to fulfill your purpose with confidence, for He reveals it to each of us in unexpected places, and through some unexpected people. Just keep your eyes open.
