Following are this week’s nominees for the Suffolk News-Herald Player of the Week:

Danielle Perry, senior, Nansemond River High School cross country: Perry finished in the top 30 in the Class 5 girls’ state meet.

Shamond Smith, senior, King’s Fork High School cross country: Smith finished in the top 50 in the Class 4 boys’ state meet.
