The Suffolk Police Department on Friday arrested a man on a felony charge of impersonating a law enforcement officer.

Eugene Johnson III, 30, of Suffolk, is charged and was taken to Western Tidewater Regional Jail after he was arrested, according to a city press release.

Police began their investigation after seeing a social media post about a citizen stopped earlier that morning by a subject driving what appeared to be an unmarked police vehicle with blue lights, the press release stated.

Officer found the vehicle parked at a business in the 600 block of Carolina Road and made contact with Johnson there.
