The Bulldogs boys’ basketball team got its second win of the season on Tuesday defeating Hickory High School on the road.
The Bulldogs returned to Suffolk with an 80-56 win. They had three players in double figures, with Keontae Boyette leading the way with 17 and Leontre Bailey adding 15 and Tyler Chatman adding 10.
Even though it’s early, King’s Fork feels good about its start. Coach Rick Hite described how hard it is to get a win in the Southeastern District, so each game can’t be taken for granted.
“We are happy to be 2-0 in the district,” Hite said. “We’ve played two different styles, and our guys have found a way to get wins. To get two wins in this conference on the road, you can’t be nothing but excited. We are doing what we have to do. We have to stay connected and continue to get better.”
King’s Fork will get its first home game at 7 p.m. Friday against Deep Creek High School.
