Suffolk Police are investigating a commercial armed robbery that happened Wednesday night.

The robbery happened at the Family Dollar in the 800 block of West Constance Road. It was reported at 8:53 p.m., according to a city press release.

Witnesses told police a male suspect, wearing a white hoodie and dark-colored pants, displayed a handgun and took an undetermined amount of money before fleeing the business on foot, the press release stated.

There were no injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
