The Cavaliers took their first loss of the season to Great Bridge High School Tuesday night on the road.
After starting off as one of the hottest teams in South Hampton Roads, Lakeland High School went on the road Tuesday night to take on a Great Bridge team that only had one win prior to its meeting with Lakeland.
Great Bridge took a 54-50 win, bringing Lakeland’s record to 5-1 on the year. Despite a somewhat surprising loss, Keimari Artis led the Cavs in scoring with 19. He was the only Cav to score in double figures Tuesday night. On the other hand, Lakeland allowed three Great Bridge players to score in double-figures.
Next for Lakeland is the King’s Fork High School holiday tournament, which will feature all three Suffolk Public Schools teams.
