Suffolk-based dance studio RPM Dance Company will hold a dance benefit concert this Saturday to donate to Roc Solid Foundation.

Roc Solid Foundation is a nonprofit foundation that provides playsets and “ready bags” for children with pediatric cancer and their families.

The dance company will be donating all the proceeds of the benefit to the nonprofit after having worked with them in the past.

“We were able to participate with Roc Solid Foundation last year, and It’s really a wonderful organization,” said Leigh Hall, a member of the company.

RPM had so many dancers and families participate that they had to be split up among three Roc Solid projects.

“The entire company participated. We had three groups — one went to Williamsburg, one went to Suffolk and one went to Chesapeake,” Hall said.

The benefit will feature pieces from all of their dancers aged 7 to 17, and there will be multiple dances performed.

“There is a large production piece, but we also have a lot of solos performing,” Hall said. “We even have some duos, trios and large group numbers. These are the dances we are taking on the road.”

For the dancers at RPM, this is the first time they have a chance to do a dry run of these dances before they start to go on the road and compete.

The benefit will be held at 3 p.m. Jan. 12 at the Plan Bee Academy, 4500 Peek Trail, Chesapeake. The performance is expected to last no more than two hours.

Tickets can be purchased at the door for $10, and the company hopes they can fill all 300 seats to support the foundation.
