Suffolk Christian Academy’s girls’ basketball team earned a 42-11 win over Summit Christian Academy Tuesday night at home.
SCA was able to bounce back from a close loss to Veritas Collegiate Academy last weekend. The Lady Knights jumped out to a 9-2 start in the first quarter. They had a 26-8 lead going into halftime.
In the second half, the Lady Knights only allowed three points as a team as they cruised on to victory.
“We took a tough loss in a game we felt we should have won,” Coach Kristy Patton said about the Veritas game. “The girls came back and worked hard. The loss kind of kept us hungry, and the girls showed it out there.”
Jadyn Patton finished with 14 points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals. Laura Cornette added eight points and two rebounds. SCA totaled seven blocks as a team, with seven players recording a block.
The Lady Knights have three more conference games left, and they want to continue to build some momentum before the postseason starts.
“Whether win or lose, we want to keep getting better,” Patton said. “We are trying to throw different looks at teams than they have seen from us before. So, we look forward to the rest of the challenges that are ahead of us.”
SCA will play against Great Bridge Christian Academy next week.
