School Board to discuss budget

The Suffolk School Board will have a special work session on Jan. 31.

The School Board will be discussing budget development at 7 p.m. The meeting will take place in City Council Chambers at City Hall, 442 W. Washington St.

“The Jan. 31 budget development work session is the opportunity for board members to learn the latest about expected federal and state revenue and to discuss what budget priorities the superintendent and staff should include in the proposed budget,” division spokeswoman Bethanne Bradshaw stated in an email.

The superintendent’s proposed budget will be presented at the Feb. 14 School Board meeting, with a public hearing at the March 14 meeting.
