The Lady Saints were able to bounce back with a home win over Norfolk Academy Thursday night after a tough loss earlier in the week.
The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy girls’ basketball team saw its nine-game win streak come to an end Tuesday night against Bishop Sullivan. Instead allowing one loss to turn into a losing streak, NSA turned around and earned a hard-fought 45-37 win over Norfolk Academy.
NSA started off strong, scoring a big 28 points in the first quarter alone. The 28-point first quarter was the most the Lady Saints went on to score in the next three quarters combined.
In the second half, the Lady Saints were outscored 24-17, but they were able to pull the win through. Alivia Giles went for 22 points and 18 rebounds. Camryn King went for 11 points.
The win puts NSA at 13-5 on the year, and they will host Norfolk Collegiate at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
