The Suffolk Christian Academy boys’ basketball team looks to finish out its regular season strong.

SCA has won two of its last five games, which have come in a tough stretch. But with a young team, the Knights are finding ways to improve every time they step on the court.

“We have a young group, and they are starting to gel,” Coach David Daniels said. “The guys have been playing hard, and we have a chance to finish up strong.”

There was some good news for the Knights, as they get back guard Alex Feeney. Daniels feels like Feeney can step right in and contribute in a true point guard role for the Knights. He will be helpful in the final stretch, and as a team, Daniels just wants to see the team continue to grow no matter how the final few games turn out.

“We just want to continue to grow,” Daniels said. “We have a good chance to continue learning about ourselves. Whoever we step on the floor with, we want to compete at the best level we know how.”

The Knights started off 2019 taking a tournament win, which gave them their first couple of wins of the season. All five of their wins came during January, which included a win streak as long as four games. For the most part, the Saints have played against some tough competition.

“Some of these games have been close, and we are just continuing to learn how to stay in and win these close games,” Daniels said. “It is encouraging to see a lot of younger guys starting to learn those lessons.”
