Nancy Carroll Duke Baines, 84, passed away Feb. 9, 2019. She was born in Gates County, N.C., the daughter of the late Nellie Mae Pierce Duke and John Clifton Duke Sr. Nancy was predeceased by husband, Raymond Thomas Baines; son, Gary Thomas Baines; sister, Nell Thacker; and brothers, Beverly Duke and John Duke Jr. She retired from Lakeview Medical Center as a medical records clerk. Nancy was a member of Cypress Chapel Christian Church and Women of the Moose Suffolk Chapter No. 1315.

Nancy is survived by her grandchildren, Keith Tadlock (Amie), Christopher Baines (Ashley), Tim Baines (Candy), Joseph Baines (Jennifer), Charlene Barnes (Stephen); and daughter-in-law, Lisa D. Baines; and great-grandchildren, Emily, Maciey, Hazel, Daron, Ashlin, Alayna, Christian, Dillion, Jarrett, Jessa, Addison, McKenzie, Jacob and Ryder.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, 2019, at Cypress Chapel Christian Church, 1891 Cypress Chapel Road, Suffolk, VA 23434 with the Rev. Tommy Reynolds officiating with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Friends may join the family for a time of visitation from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
