Gladys Jones, 86, of Carolina Road, transitioned Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019, at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Annie Mae Jones and Clifton Jones. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leon King, son, Frank Jones; and three sisters, Hattie Jones, Eleanora Jones and Valerie Joan Merricks.

She was employed with Butter Dish and Planters and was a member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church and Missouri Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory five daughters, Joyce Jones, Carmen Jones, Janice Parker (Clayton), Tracy Wiggins (Raymond) all of Suffolk, and Lisa Flood (Robert), of Smithfield; four sons, Morris Jones, Jerry King, Mark Jones (Judy), and Gregory Smith (Karen), all of Suffolk; three sisters, Annie D. Knight, of Suffolk, Irene Hall (Clinton), of Suffolk, and Helen Brown, of Portsmouth; brother, Clifton Jones (Shirley), of Suffolk; 19 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at noon, Friday, Feb. 15, 2019, at Balm Church East Campus, 525 E. Washington St., Suffolk. She will be laid to rest in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving guest at 409 Carolina Road, Suffolk, VA 23434. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home Inc.
