Two robbers sought by police

Police are investigating an armed robbery that happened late Wednesday and believe it could be related to a robbery that happened on Sunday.

The latest robbery was reported at 9:10 p.m. from the Valero gas station in the 600 block of Carolina Road, according to a city press release.

Preliminary investigation found that two black males with their faces covered and wearing hoodies entered the store while several customers were inside and robbed the clerks at gunpoint, according to the press release. They took money and cigarettes before fleeing on foot.

There were no injuries, the press release stated.

The men were further described as 5 feet, 5 inches to 5 feet, 10 inches in height and 125 to 160 pounds. One wore black and red Jordan sneakers, sweatpants, a hoodie and a white bandanna covering his face. The other wore a black hoodie and black ski mask covering his face, according to the release.

It is believed the same subjects were involved in the armed robbery of the Raceway gas station in the 1200 block of Portsmouth Boulevard that happened late Sunday, the press release stated.
