Soccer develops agility, speed and stamina, and also teaches children the importance of teamwork. It can also play an important part in your child’s physical and social development. Suffolk Parks & Recreation offers a Spring Youth Outdoor Soccer League for boys and girls ages 4 to 13.

The cost for registration is $60 for residents and $70 for non-residents. All registrants must have proof of age and residency. Parents can register through March 8 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday at the following locations:

• Northern Shores Recreation Center — 6701 Respass Beach Road
• Creekside Recreation Center — 1000 Bennetts Creek Road
• King’s Fork Recreation Center — 350 Kings Fork Road
• East Suffolk Recreation Center — 134 S. Sixth St.

Practices start the week of March 25, and the league games begin April 6 and will last eight weeks. Games will be played at Sleepy Hole Park and Peanut Park. For information regarding the league or volunteer coaching, call 514-7270.
