To add icing on top of the cake, the team was able to meet Virginia Beach native and USA field hockey player Stephanie Fee. Fee congratulated the team on what they were able to do and was excited about seeing a local team from her area doing good things. Woods and Fee both wear the No. 2 jersey, and Fee is one of Woods’ favorite players. Fee has a field hockey club in the Pennsylvania area.

“It was exciting for Anyia and the girls to see her,” Diana Melendez-Woods said. “That was the highlight of the tournament. She is a big inspiration, and it’s good for the girls to see and hear someone like that is from where they are. She even shouted them out on social media.”

The Saints Crew also recently competed in Florida, where they placed in the top 10.
