A late run in the final inning for Nansemond River gave it a 3-2 win over rival King’s Fork Thursday evening in high school softball action.

The Lady Warriors were able to go 2-0 during the week against city rivals, also beating Lakeland 12-1.

With the game tied 1-1 in the sixth, King’s Fork scored to take a one-run lead before the Lady Warriors rallied. Bri Rivera pinch hit for Nyah McNeal and drew a walk. McNeal stole second, and later scored the game-winning run on Shelby Knaak’s bunt.
