Deaconess Lois Jean Holloway transitioned to her heavenly home on April 16, 2019, at her residence.

Lois was born to the late Claude Johnson and Hattie Lee Jones Smith on Sept. 17, 1936, in Nansemond County. She received her education training through Suffolk Public Schools. She was employed at Gwaltney Packing plant for many years until her health began to fail. She was also active in the Daughters of the Improved Benevolent Protective Order of Elks in Isle of Wight County. She was also a member of Little Bethel Baptist Church. Lois married her husband, Bennie Holloway, of Suffolk, on Feb. 14, 2010, and he cared for her faithfully until her transition to eternal rest.

Services will be held for her on April 20, 2019, at Little Bethel Baptist Church, 6533 Everets Road, Suffolk, VA 23434. Services will begin at 1 p.m., and Pastor Bernard Thomas shall render the service. The family will receive guests at the home of her sister, Mrs. H. LaRonda Turner, 1037 Boundary Drive, Suffolk. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home Inc.
