City under tornado watch

The city of Suffolk is under a tornado watch and flash flood watch as severe weather begins to roll in on Friday afternoon.

The tornado watch is in effect until midnight for much of Virginia. A tornado watch means conditions are favorable for development of a tornado but does not mean one has been spotted. A tornado warning will be issued if one is spotted or indicated on radar.

Conditions may develop that may lead to flash flooding, as well.
