Mr. Leslie Boone, 75, of North Carolina Highway 32, Corapeake, N.C., transitioned Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at his residence. Born in Gates County, N.C., he was the son of the late Lizzie Lee Smith Boone and Clyde Sampson Boone. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ida Bell and Lizzie Scott; and one brother, Vance Boone.

He retired from Suffolk Concrete after 20-plus years of faithful and dedicated service. He was a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church, where he served on the Usher Board.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Joyce A. Boone, of Corapeake, N.C.; six daughters, Joyce Knight and Debbie (Stacy) Faulk, both of Corapeake, N.C., Markesha (Rickey) Norfleet, of Elizabeth City, Pamela Shivers (Lewis) and Cynthia Boone, both of Suffolk, and Nita Jenkins (Frederick), of Hampton; two sons, Calvin (Latasha) Knight, of Sunbury, N.C., and Clyde Boone, of Suffolk; sister, Janice Boone, of Suffolk; brother, Dallas Boone, of Suffolk; 22 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at Metropolitan Baptist Church, 125 County St., Suffolk. The Rev. Dr. Robert L. Hobbs will deliver the message of comfort. He will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home Inc.
