Lots of events are planned for this weekend in Suffolk, so if you can’t find something fun and enriching for you and your family to do in town, you’re not looking hard enough.

Almost miraculously, this Saturday looks like it will be a sunny day, which almost never happens on a spring weekend in Suffolk with lots of outdoor events planned.

Here’s a quick rundown of some of the events you definitely won’t want to miss:

• The 2019 Hampton Roads Tour de Cure will be held on April 27 at Suffolk Executive Airport, 1200 Gene Bolton Drive. There will be 12-, 30-, 62- and 100-mile routes for cyclists, and also a 5K run and walk. Registration will open for 100- and 65-mile riders at 6 a.m. before they leave the airport at 7:30 a.m. The 30- and 12-mile riders will register starting at 7:30 a.m. and depart at 8:30 a.m., while the 5K runners and walkers will start registering at 9 a.m. and head out at 10 a.m. This is a great event for to come ride, run or walk, cheer on those participating and find out more about your health. • The Suffolk Earth and Arts Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church, 3488 Godwin Blvd. There will be artists, food trucks, plant sales, live music and kids’ stuff in celebration of Earth Day. • The StrongWILL one-mile scholarship fund run and walk will be held at the Suffolk Seaboard Coastline trailhead, 3160 Kings Highway. Fundraising will be put toward scholarships for graduating Hampton Roads high school seniors. Registration will be from 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. and runners and walkers will set off on the trail at 9:30 a.m. Every participant will receive a finisher medal and children will receive small prizes. Registration costs $15 and includes a race medal, race bib, light refreshments and prizes. • Driver Village on Kings Highway will host a “Touch a Truck” event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Families will bring their children to check out the large vehicles and enjoy live entertainment.
