Families can visit Driver this Saturday and enjoy a day’s worth of Touch-a-Truck festivities.

The Driver Touch-a-Truck event will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Driver Village, 3117 Kings Highway. This event is free and open to the public.

StrongWILL will also hold the organization’s first Charity Scholarship Fund Run from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the Suffolk Seaboard Coastline trailhead in Driver this Saturday morning, for those that want to be active and support a good cause.

Starting at 10 a.m. after the race, children will enjoy a closer look at more than a half-dozen different large vehicles parked in the village, according to Terri Moore of Driver Events. There will be fire trucks, ambulances and other vehicles provided by the city, along with even more sizable additions.

The Jesse Lou’s Mobile Food and Catering food truck will provide its signature grilled cheese and hotdogs, Moore said, as visitors browse a slew of vendors and Driver’s own stores that will be open on Saturday.

Children will leap in the bounce house, get behind the steering wheels of big trucks and fill up on food and fun.

“Come on out and enjoy Driver for the day,” Moore said.
