Warriors drop close one

The Nansemond River High School baseball team split its season series with Grassfield High School.

With the 1-0 loss to Grassfield Tuesday evening, the Warriors go to 10-3 on the season. In the first meeting, Nansemond River defeated Grassfield 13-5. The only run of the game was scored in the fourth inning. Caleb Pittman pitched a complete game and took the loss on the mound.

Nansemond River totaled only two hits as a team. The Warriors will get a chance to bounce back against a tough Western Branch High School team.
