The Suffolk Ruritan Club and Suffolk Fraternal Order of Police will thank local first responders and veterans this Saturday with their free “Appreciation BBQ.”

The luncheon will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at YMCA Camp Arrowhead, 275 Kenyon Road, and is free to attend at no cost for Suffolk first responders and veterans.

Food will include barbecue ribs and barbecue pork butt, baked beans, cole slaw and potato salad, plus drinks and other refreshments. Meals will be dine-in or take out. There will also be live entertainment and information about Veterans Affairs and other services.

“It’s our way of giving back to the community,” said Carlos Gonzalez, one of the organizers with Suffolk FOP.
