A second Suffolk man has been arrested in connection to a fatal downtown shooting in February.

Antonio Lamon Jefferson, 24, of Suffolk was arrested Friday on charges of discharging a firearm or missile in/at an occupied building, as well as destruction of property related to a vehicle that was damaged by gunfire during the Feb. 26 incident, according to a city press release.

The incident occurred at the Happy Shopper location in the 600 block of East Washington Street. Leondrae Shaqil Johnson, 25, of Suffolk died from his injuries and Jefferson was also hospitalized for gunshot wounds.

Jefferson is scheduled for arraignment in Suffolk General District Court at 9 a.m. May 13, according to online court records.

Marquay Antonio White, 24, of Suffolk was arrested March 1 on a charge of second-degree murder in connection to the incident.

The investigation remains ongoing at this time.
