According to a city press release, the theme for this year’s Teen Summit is “Empowered to Overcome.” The focus will be on empowering youth to make them stronger and more confident, especially in controlling their life and claiming their rights.

The Teen Summit will begin Aug. 24 with seminars at 9 a.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn – Suffolk Riverfront, 100 E. Constance Road. The seminars will be followed by an after party at Constant’s Wharf Park behind the hotel.
