Roadway work begins in Eclipse

Minor traffic delays are expected in Eclipse as a sewer tie-in project begins on Wednesday morning. This work is being performed by a private contractor as part of the ongoing construction of the Chuckatuck Cove development, according to a city press release.

The work is set to begin at 7 a.m. in the 9000 block of Eclipse Drive. This will include significant excavation of the existing sewer manhole and will require a lane closure with flagger control.

Traffic control will be monitored by city staff. A full-lane width will be maintained for traffic at all times, and first responders and school buses will receive priority over local traffic as necessary.  The roadway will be restored to two-way traffic each evening when work is completed for the day.

The work is anticipated to take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Friday, but may be extended later if conditions warrant, according to the press release.
