NR tops King’s Fork

The Nansemond River High School boys’ soccer team picked up a 6-1 win over rival King’s Fork High School.

The Warriors completed the season sweep of its two city rivals with Tuesday’s win. It was senior night while four Warriors got on the scoreboard to go to 11-2-2 on the season.

Taylor Jones and Doug Hill each had two goals to lead the Warriors, while Elkin Palma scored the Bulldogs’ only goal.

Nansemond River will take on Hickory High School on the road Thursday at 5:30 p.m., while King’s Fork will take on Lakeland High School at home Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
