Our beloved Jean Cobb, 82, of 318 Bank St., entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 15, 2019, at Sentara Obici Hospital. Jean was born to the late Jordan Copeland Sr. and Bessie Gatling Copeland on June 21, 1936, in Suffolk.

Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She professed Christ at an early age and was a longtime member of Metropolitan Baptist Church. Jean retired from Planters Peanut Company after 42 years of service.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, William C. Cobb, and a son, Michael A. Cobb.

Jean leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Wayne Cobb (Alice), Sharon Cobb, Sheila Cobb and Clinton Cobb (Valerie); 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a brother, Marvin Copeland (Jessie Mae); one brother-in-law, Frederick Cobb; and three devoted friends, Laverne Glover, Lois Boone and Harley Lloyd. Also left to cherish her memory is a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2019, at Metropolitan Baptist Church, 125 County St., Suffolk, VA 23434. She will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home Inc.
