The Suffolk-Nansemond Historical Society will hold its annual sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Phillips-Dawson House, 137 Bank St.

A vast collection of items donated by members throughout the year will be available for purchase. Items for sale will include Victorian furniture, fine artwork, Depression glass, Noritake China, porcelain and bisque figurines and a Mahogany ladies’ desk.

“This is just a small portion of what we have,” Suffolk-Nansemond Historical Society Director Kimberly Blair-Greene wrote in an email. There will also be vintage records, books, clocks, Christmas toys and more. “There is something here for everyone, at extremely fair pricing.”

The Suffolk-Nansemond Historical Society’s mission is to collect, preserve, interpret and promote awareness of the history and culture of Suffolk and old Nansemond County, for both the education and enjoyment of current and future generations, according to suffolkhistory.org.

This is the historical society’s 53rd year as a crucial nonprofit organization in Suffolk, according to Blair Greene, and the annual sale is its second largest fundraiser behind Touch-A-Truck. All proceeds go to the historical society’s budget and operational expenses.

“We envision many, many more years serving the community and assisting them in understanding our rich history,” Blair Greene wrote. “(The Suffolk-Nansemond Historical Society) wants to promote a future of history lovers, like ourselves. These fundraisers help make this possible.”
