A Virginia Beach woman has been arrested following indictment on charges of armed robbery in Suffolk.
Junajah Shaquilla Somerville, 20, was arrested Tuesday on multiple charges related to the robbery at the Verizon store in the 6200 block of College Drive on April 14, according to a city press release.
Her charges include abduction to extort money or for immoral purpose; robbery; robbery with use of gun or simulated gun (3 counts); use or display firearm in commission of a felony (4 counts).
The robbery was reported at 2:01 p.m. that day. Police initially said two men, displaying handguns and wearing masks covering the lower part of their faces, entered the store and demanded phones. They fled with only a customer’s phone, a city press release stated.
However, further investigation determined Somerville, a woman, to be one of the suspects.
