James E. Wright, 69, transitioned from his earthly labor on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019, at Advent Health Hospital, Daytona Beach, Fla., after a very brief illness.

Left to cherish his memories are his sisters, Agnes Lassiter and Doris (Thomas) Turner; brother, Lester; daughters, Tracy Gales, Nisreen (Danny) Orr; son, Demetrus (Rosenna) Wright; foster daughter, Emily Cardenas; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; four aunts; three uncles; one niece; two nephews; and a host of cousins and friends.

A visitation will take place from noon to 5 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, and the family is receiving visitors at 1104 White Marsh Road, Suffolk. A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12 at Pleasant Union Baptist Church, 215 Webb St., Suffolk, and he will be laid to rest with military honors at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
