Following are this week’s nominees for the Suffolk News-Herald Player of the Week:

• Justin Fatherly, senior, Nansemond River High School basketball: Fatherly scored 22 points in the Warriors’ season-opener win over Mathews High School.
• Alivia Giles, senior, Nansemond-Suffolk Academy basketball: Giles had 20 points and 13 rebounds in a win over Catholic High School.
