William E. Golden

On Jan. 4, 2020, Pastor William E. Golden, of Virginia Beach, gained his wings and went home to be with the Lord. He was born in Whaleyville and attended Nansemond County Public Schools. He was retired from the Department of Navy Printing and Publication Services. He was the pastor of New Paul’s Temple Holiness Church of Deliverance and Save Thyself Inspirational Ministries.

He is son of the late James Henry and Mary White Golden. He was also predeceased by three sisters, Betty Ann Golden, Christine Golden and Anna Cardell Porter; and one brother, Hersey Golden.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 50 years, Co-Pastor Gertrude (Gigi) Armstrong-Golden; two daughters, Wanda L. Golden and Wendy R. Golden; three sisters, Martha Virginia Ralph, Mary Frances Towns and Ernestine Gracie Wilson; five sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020. The wake will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. The homegoing celebration will take place at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, 2020. Pastor Kera Johnson and Apostle Gary Rodgers will officiate. All services will be held at New Paul’s Temple Church, 720 Hosier Road, Suffolk, VA 23434. He will be entombed in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home Inc.
