NR swim finishes regular season strong

The Nansemond River High School swim teams earned wins over Oscar Smith High School Tuesday evening.

The Nansemond River boys’ swim team took a 129-38 win over Oscar Smith. Andrew Betts took first place finishes in two events, as did Cameron Wilkins. Justin Croft and Aaron Hopper both had top finishes as well. The Warriors took first place in three relays — the 200 medley, 200 free and 400 free.

The girls’ team took a 90-79 win over Oscar Smith. Selby Heyman had two first-place finishes, while Ashlyn Swaim also placed first in the 100 fly, earning a school record.

Both teams finish with a 6-3 record as Nansemond River now prepares for the Class 5A regional swim meet.
