Mrs. Ola Mae Pittman, 97, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2020, at her home.

She was the daughter of the late Prince and Jerideana Newby Smith. She was predeceased by her brother, William “J.C.” Newby; her husband, Charlie W. Pittman Sr.; and six children, William, Thurman, Marlee, Robert, Elizabeth “Pig” Guess and Arrington “BooBoo” Pittman.

She is survived by her children, Edna Boykin, Charlie Pittman Jr., Ercella “Peaches” Pittman, Doris Williams (Denell), Delois Copeland (Bump), Paulette Stokes and Brinkley Pitman (Charmaine); as well as 153 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, etc.

She was a longtime member of Metropolitan Baptist Church and was employed at Planters/Kraft for more than 30 years.

A celebration of life will take place at noon Monday, Feb. 24, at Metropolitan Baptist Church, 125 County St. The Rev. Robert Hobbs is the pastor.

Harris Funeral Home has been entrusted with the homegoing service.
