The Lakeland High School girls’ basketball team advanced to the Class 3 state semifinals with a win over Brentsville District.
The Lady Cavs continue to make history on their journey to a state title with a 45-35 win over Brentsville District High School. After Brentsville was able to stay in arm’s reach in the first half, Lakeland pulled away in the second.
A defensive rally for Lakeland was able to frustrate Brentsville all night long, as the Lady Cavaliers capitalized on countless mistakes in the second half. Ke’monye Canady finished with 14 to lead the Lady Cavs, while Jamauri Demiel added eight.
