Cavs hold off Western Albemarle to earn title game bid

The Lakeland High School boys’ basketball team was able to use its stout defense to advance to the Class 3 state championship game.
After a back-and-forth matchup with Western Albemarle High School, the Cavs made key plays late to secure the game. Raymond Bellamy and Clint Wright Jr. both had solid games for the Cavs to give them a 43-35 win.
Lakeland will play in the Class 3 state title game this Friday night at Virginia Commonwealth University.
