Virginia cases of COVID-19 top 200

Virginia is now reporting at least 219 cases of COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, as of noon Sunday.

It’s a 44-percent increase from the 152 cases reported at noon Saturday. A total of 3,337 people have now been tested.

One additional death, of a Fairfax resident, has been reported, bringing the total deaths in Virginia to three. There are 32 people who have been hospitalized.

The Western Tidewater Health District still reports two people infected, a Suffolk man in his 50s whose case was confirmed Thursday and a 27-year-old woman from Smithfield whose case was reported Friday.
