To the editor:

COVID-19 has taken over how we live our day-to-day lives. Businesses are shutting down left and right, and people are now living temporarily without jobs. Not all businesses can afford to pay all of their employees due to the lack of money that these businesses are making.

Many people are stocking up on items and locking themselves away inside of their homes. There are also other people who are not taking this very seriously. Speaking as someone who has severe asthma and a very weak immune system, I am terrified. I get sick for months at a time during the flu season and it takes me a while to recover, so I am doing everything I possibly can to not catch this virus. I do not want to put myself or my family and loved ones at risk.

I think that it is extremely important that everyone takes this situation seriously. Social distancing is very important, and so is constantly washing your hands. CDC has provided so much information for us to use to prevent the spread of this virus, and it is our job as citizens to do our part and follow the guidelines.
