Charles D. Richards, 63, made the transition to eternal life with God on April 2, 2020. He was a beloved brother and son who always came through when the chips were down, and he loved to read and travel.

A native of Suffolk, Charles graduated from John F. Kennedy High, and he obtained an associate of applied science degree in industrial arts from Norfolk State University. He worked at Norfolk Shipbuilding and the Dominion Surry Nuclear Power Plant as a machinist.

Charles spoke the word and with it was with great joy of spirit that he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior.

A viewing took place from 3 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2020, at the funeral home. Due to the current pandemic, a celebration of Charles’ life will take place at a later date. Charles’ remains will be interred at the Howell Family Cemetery in Gold Point, N.C., at a later date.
