Queen graduates boot camp

U.S. Marine Corps Pfc. Coleman Queen graduated from boot camp at Parris Island, S.C., on April 10, 2020.

The Marine completed an intensive 13 weeks of training. He completed “The Crucible,” which is 54 hours and 48 miles. It consists of 45 pounds of gear, 36 warrior stations, 29 team-building exercises, six hours of sleep, and 2 MRE’s.

He was a platoon artist and scored expert rifleman.

In high school, he completed five ROTC courses, which enabled him to earn a higher rank upon graduating boot camp.

His journey continues with MCT and MOS.

Queen is the son of Stephen and Jennifer Queen, of Suffolk, and grandson of Victor Williams and Linda Elliott, of Suffolk. Extended family also resides in Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. They are proud of his accomplishments and cheering him on.
